JANE'S ADDICTION Releases Post-Hiatus New Single "True Love"

I'm guessing this was planned in advance.

Jane's Addiction 2024

Jane's Addiction might be on hiatus, but at least we got a second new single. Jane's Addiction is now streaming "True Love", their second new single featuring the classic lineup of Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Eric Avery in 34 years – the first was "Imminent Redemption" in July.

As for the future of Jane's Addiction right now, who knows. During a show on September 13 at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, MA, Farrell assaulted Navarro on stage. According to video footage, Farrell walked over to Navarro and aggressively bumped him with his shoulder, got up in Navarro's face right afterward, and even threw a punch before a roadie and Avery broke it up.

Jane's Addiction then issued an apology for the on-stage incident and cancelled their September 15 show in Bridgeport, CT. One day later, Jane's Addiction went on hiatus and cancelled the remainder of their tour dates. A statement from Jane's Addiction said the band "made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group," while a statement from Navarro, Perkins, and Avery cited "a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell."

Farrell issued his own statement shortly thereafter, saying in part it's "only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday's show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation."

If I had to guess, this Jane's Addiction single was already planned and they just decided to roll with it.
