As promised, Slipknot is now streaming their pissed-off-as-pissed-off-gets new single "The Chapeltown Rag." The song is great, though I think what's most interesting here is the mix. Slipknot managed to have every band pretty clearly audible throughout "The Chapeltown Rag," which really adds some clarity and depth to song.

"It's a punisher man. It's classic Slipknot," said vocalist Corey Taylor. "And it's frenetic. But lyrically, it's coming from a point of talking about the various manipulations that can happen when social media meets media itself. And the different ways that these manipulations can try to pull us in different directions, in the fact that we're all becoming addicts to it, which is very, very dangerous."

"'The Chapeltown Rag' facilitates a sort of mindset that you're going to like: it's along the barnburner side of things," added percussionist Clown.

The press release notes the song comes from the band's "yet-to-be-announced new album." In the meantime, Slipknot will premiere the song live this weekend during their Knotfest LA pay-per-view event. Get tickets here.
