Asomvel blew up on the international metal scene in 2017 with their video for "World Shaker," and coupled with the band's overt Mötorhead worship, they managed to win the affection of fans across the globe. Now 26 years into their career, Asomvel are gearing up to release their brand new full length record World Shaker on Heavy Psych Sounds come May 3. Their latest single, "Every Dog Has Its Day" is a Lemmy-esque stomper sure to put a whiskey-soaked swagger in your step. Coming out of the gate with a pompous groove that spitefully spits bile, frontman Lenny Robinson leads the three piece into heavy metal absolution. Fast, dirty, and paying tribute to the legends without coming off as corny, this is a fitting extension to the Mötorhead mythos.
It would've been very easy, né in style for Asomvel to merely ape the sound their musical ancestors pioneered. However, they go far beyond, building on what made Mötorhead great and crafting their own unique sound. If you like old fashioned heavy metal, it's hard not to smile when listening to Asomvel. Hard hitting and straight to the gut, this is crazy rock and roll that is destined to shake the globe. After all – every dog has its day, and after 26 years, it's Asomvel's time to shine!
The band had this to say:
“Every Dog Has Its Day is another shot across the bows from the new album, World Shaker; just to add to the confusion, it isn’t about dogs!”
Jam it now:
