Wes Borland has been talking about his next solo album Astral Hand for quite some time. The record is finally beginning to materialize in the form of two new songs titled "Matadors And Daughters" and "Arcturus," both of which are long, spacey journeys that slowly build upon themselves to fantastic heights.

As for Astral Hand, Borland tells Rolling Stone "Sixty percent of the record is already written. The other 40 percent is going to be based on ideas and structures that I'm coming up with for and during Moogfest." Borland's Moogfest appearance will be four hours long, and he tells Rolling Stone a little bit about how he'll be performing at the show.

I'm setting up the workflow of the rig right now. I'm using some old analog, vintage boutique, crazy stuff that can't fly. I have to rent a cargo van and drive everything down there for 10-and-a-half hours. It's made up of lapsteel, synthesizers, nine delay pedals, four loopers, splitters so that I can run it all at the same time. I'm creating loops and going to, like, old recordings of mine and stockpiling my sampler – I'm armed to the teeth with samples for days. I better not drink any water.

Borland also touches on his project with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, saying nothing will likely surface until next year. He doesn't elaborate more on that project or give any Limp Bizkit updates. "Matadors And Daughters" and "Arcturus" are out as digital singles today.
