Act Of Defiance, the band consisting of former Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover, Matt Bachand of Shadows Fall on bass, and ex-Scar The Martyr vocalist Henry Derek, is currently writing its sophomore effort. The band came out of the gate a little weak with its debut Birth And The Burial in 2014, but with a lineup like that, it's hard to believe both albums will be misses.
Broderick tells Loudwire that he's working on some material, as is Drover, and that it'll be at least a little bit different than the aforementioned record.
"Personally, I’m working on four songs that I’ve got right now. I know Shawn’s already circulated two songs that he’s working on and so that’s really where we’re at. We’re at the writing process, the demoing process, but it’s going really good. I do have one classical guitar piece that I’ve already written for it and I’m excited to see what people think about that one."
Broderick also adds that the writing process for the new album, likely due out in 2017, will be a much more collaborative effort than Birth And The Burial. So I guess we'll find out soon enough if Act Of Defiance can defy our expectations, right?
