CTV is reporting that an Edmonton man was stabbed moments after leaving an Amon Amarth gig at the Edmonton Convention Centre on Monday night, September 30th.
The man, in his early 30s, had just left the show when he was involved in what CTV is calling "an altercation" and got stabbed. Bystanders were able to hold and arrest the suspect, another man in his mid-30s, until police arrived.
Currently, there is no update on the fan's condition. Police told CTV “Originally, it wasn’t looking good, but we don’t have an update on the (victims) condition.” The story notes that homicide detectives were spotted at the scene a few hours later, but there had been no update on the victim's condition.
Nobody else was injured. There is some surveillance footage of the incident but cops are asking for help. “Theres quite a bit of video at the location of the event. And we’re canvassing other buildings to see what other video is available.”
Amon Amarth is currently on tour with Arch Enemy, At the Gates, and Grand Magus.
