UK stoner ancients Orange Goblin will release their brand new studio album, A Eulogy For The Damned, on February 14, 2012. This date is the same day as when Black Sabbath's classic self-titled debut album was released waaaay back in rusty ol' 1970.
A Eulogy For The Damned is the band’s seventh studio album, but it will be their first for their new label, Candlelight Records. The ten-track album was recorded at The Animal Farm studio in South London, UK, and it was produced and engineered by Jamie Dodd. Mastered at Tube Mastering by two-time Grammy-nominated Pink Floyd engineer, Andy Jackson, we can all expect crystal-clear production and an easily palatable sound.
A Eulogy For The Damned will be released on CD and limited edition colored vinyl in gatefold sleeve.
To celebrate the release of the new album, Orange Goblin will hit the road come this April on a creatively-named tour called "A Eulogy For The Damned UK & Ireland Tour".

This record first started coming into existence nearly two years earlier when the band announced that they were going to enter the studio for the first time in over five years to knock out some new material. I've previewed it already, and trust me, it's true to the stoner metal sound. No weird genre-crossover experiments or any of those controversial marketing schticks!
