Dark Funeral's last full-length record was Angelus Exuro pro Eternus in 2009. Since then, the band has recruited bassist Natt and vocalist Heljarmadr for a brand new single titled "Nail Them To The Cross." The song was received pretty well upon its release in 2014, though little did fans know at the time they'd have to wait another two years for a record.
Speaking of a new record, Dark Funeral is recording a new record right now with Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Soilwork, Behemoth, etc.)! Founding guitarist Lord Ahriman seems pretty stoked about the ordeal, or so he's made evident via Facebook.
"We've been waiting for this day a long time! Today we've finally entered Dug-Out studios in Uppsala to begin the recording of our sixth studio album!
Last we were here, we recorded the Nail Them To The Cross single and that was indeed a great warm up for the new album. It introduced Heljarmadr as the new vocalist and lyricist, showing that we are unstoppable and that we still hold the world in our hands, ready to crush and destroy!
We are extremely eager to bring this monster into this world and after months of preparations we are finally here to summon the beast!!"
