Earlier this month, one of the first cancelations as a result of coronavirus, was a Testament, Exodus, Death Angel show in Milan, Italy, due to the outbreak getting serious there. The three legendary thrash bands were on tour in Europe earlier in the month as the virus was spreading, and it looks like some members of the tour may have contracted it.
Exodus guitarist Gary Holt went public with his self-quarantine for showing all the symptoms of the disease. He has since gotten tested and is awaiting results. Death Angel drummer Will Carroll is currently suffering much worse than Holt, and is in the ICU.
Earlier in the week, Death Angel canceled their Mexico City appearance at Heaven and Hell fest citing "half of our band [and crew] being sick." Last night, Gary Holt posted a message asking for "some massive positive vibes" for Carroll, who is in the intensive care unit:
"I remained quiet on this earlier, not wanting to say anything until I was certain it had become public knowledge, but Will Carroll is in need of some massive positive vibes. Me, I appreciate all the warm wishes I've gotten, but I'm sick, nothing more, Will is in the ICU. WAY worse that anything I'm dealing with, by a long shot. Not even close. He is very ill. There are several of us that have symptoms and are waiting for test results. Will needs some healing vibes from everyone."
When a fan commented asking if Carroll was suffering from COVID-19 or coronavirus, Holt responded "test results coming soon but pretty sure that's what it is."
Earlier in the week, Blabbermouth reported Carroll's fiancée posted on social media that he has been "very sick" since returning from a European tour earlier in the month. She also asked his friends to send him "positive healing thoughts," and writing "Need even more healing vibes, candles, prayers, love, everything you have for Will. I love you so much Will!!! Keep fighting I need you!!!! We all need you!!!!!"
We are sending best wishes to Carroll.
