DEE SNIDER Is Pretty Sick Of Bands Retiring & Quickly Reuniting For Tours

So says Dee Snider rather emphatically.

Dee Snider shut down any idea of a full-on Twisted Sister reunion tour while speaking with Eonmusic at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California where the band was being inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame.

Asked whether or not Twisted Sister has any shows lined up, or perhaps even a tour to announce, Snider confirmed the group has "A hard 'no plans'" in the works, reiterating how Twisted Sister has "no plans at all" to reunite full-scale.

Snider has been very vocal about retirement, and what it means for the artists, the fans, and the integrity of the music. "You know, I've said when people retire, they should leave the stage, and all those bands, I'm tired of buying No More Tours shirts and seeing people signing contracts in blood and then they show up three years later. I don't believe in that bullshit, so I don't think it's going to happen."

I'm pretty sure we know who Snider is talking about, but that's a completely different story. What's important though, is that Twisted Sister did play at the induction ceremony, and by all accounts, a good time was enjoyed by one and all, even if it was a short three song set featuring Snider, guitarist Jay Jay French, bassist Mark "The Animal" Mendoza and drummer Mike Portnoy, who has played drums for Twisted Sister since the passing of former drummer A.J. Pero. Guitarist Eddie Ojeda contracted COVID-19, and was filled in for by Keith Robert War.

Before the set, Snider was asked what it is like to be playing with his old bandmates again, and the singer joked, "Well, we tested it last night [during rehearsal], and apparently you can forget how to ride a bicycle. No, it was great… we had a great time last night, and we're looking forward to tonight.

"Since [the last time we've played] I've eaten a lot of pancakes and muffins so I'm not quite as fit as I was. But, you know, it's fun. I love these guys, and that was one of the best things about reuniting was becoming friends again, and we are friends."

You can watch full performance Twisted Sister at the Metal Hall of Fame just below in this excellent fan shot footage. The band runs through "You Can't Stop Rock and Roll," "Under the Blade," and "We're Not Gonna Take It."
