I feel like I was just writing about the new Devildriver album Winter Kills, so I had to look up when the hell that came out… and it's Aug. 27 of last year! Damn they work quick! Vocalist for the group Dez Fafara took to Twitter earlier in the week to let everyone know the good news.
"I JUST HEARD 2 NEW #DEVILDRIVER SONGS ! Sent by Boecklin ! @jeffkendrick@MikeSpreitzer Good God Lets Up The Game I'm in!#GonnaSurpriseYa"
To which guitarist Jeff Kendrick responds quite enthusiastically.
"@evilriver@MikeSpreitzer hell yeah my man!!!! Into it! #teameffort"
I'm not entirely familiar with the band's recent touring history, but think about how much time it has probably been between then and now. Sure, Winter Kills was released on Aug. 27 of 2013, but when was all that wrapped up on the band's side in the studio? Even if they only finished recording in September of 2013 (hypothetically), that's still a whole five months for two songs… which is a pretty substantial amount of time. Not that I'm putting the guys down or anything like that, just pointing it out. I'm sure the new record will kick ass just like Winter Kills did!
