Our most recent story in the slew of Ziltoid-related stories we've published over the past few months is that Devin Townsend will be hitting the studio in May to record the Ziltoid sequel Z2. Now Townsend revealed via Twitter that not only is he currently working his ass off on the record, but that it's going to be a double album!
"So check it: Z2 is going to be a double record, one Ziltoid, one dTP, and the theme it's 'Ziltoid against the world' ….so…"
Holy shit! I'm really curious to see how he creates this "Devin Townsend Project v. Ziltoid" vibe he's describing here, but how can we possibly doubt the man? He also said there's going to be some type of conflict between two entities.
"When we post choir songs, you can choose to either belt it out for Ziltoid, or sing with the DTP (or both :) going to be a hoot…"
So I guess fans are getting involved in the recording too. It sounds like it's literally going to be a battle between Devin Townsend Project and Ziltoid in a musical-type fashion. This is so exciting! Good thing he has the money for the production of the record too.
