The 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise has been announcing its lineup band-by-band over the past few weeks. The cruise recently announced Vektor as one of its many performing artists, and much like the band's recent singing (and being dropped) by Century Media, it didn't go too well.
70000 Tons Of Metal has now announced that Vektor will no longer be a part of the cruise, only saying on their social media they've decided to remove the band. The controversy surrounding Vektor causing all the turbulence is due to past allegations of assault by frontman David DiSanto.
To recap, the backlash against Vektor is due to accusations (and video) of DiSanto allegedly assaulting his wife in 2019. At the time, DiSanto's wife noted she was in a long legal battle against David, while David denied the claims. Vektor originally went on hiatus in 2016 when everyone quit the band, and reformed in 2020 as an independent band with the response being… mixed. DiSanto has since disputed the claims after being dropped by Century Media.
70000 Tons Of Metal will take place between January 30 and February 3. The cruise will feature Cynic, Insomnium, Nightwish, Obscura, and way more. Get tickets here.
