The only way for Puddle of Mudd to get into the news these days is when frontman Wes Scantlin does something stupid. You may recall we wrote about Wes in January when he got arrested at the Denver airport for entering a restricted area and the only person willing to bail him out was a fan. His show ended up getting cancelled and fans were pissed.
So naturally, today's story is about a whole new time that Scantlin pissed off whatever remaining fan base he has left.
The band performed about a week ago, on April 2nd in Scottsdale, Arizona and barely got through a few songs before Wes decided to smash his own guitar, some mics and a portion of the drumset. He proceeded to leave the stage and eventually hop in a cab and ditch the show all-together.
Fans were outraged and took to the band's Facebook to complain. Here is video footage of the incident:
Totally bummed about short show after 4 other bands. Puddle of Mudd rocks but disappointed tonite :-( broke up set and left early. Bro in red cap called it quick- sorry for bitchin dude.. Livewire Scottsdale

These two fans travelled some significant distances to see Puddle of Mudd and naturally were very disappointed:
Ok so puddle of mudd…. 3 songs into the set, the lead singer had a major temper tantrum- out of nowhere- and broke…

There are plenty more on the band's Facebook page. It seems as though they are still actively playing shows as they are playing Green Bay tomorrow night.
I am writing this story as a warning to whatever remaining Puddle of Mudd fans there are left… if you pay to see these guys, you might leave very disappointed!
