DREDG Is Working On Their First New Album In Seven Years

Well color us stoked.

Well color us stoked.

Dredg's 2002 album El Cielo and 2005 album Catch Without Arms are prime examples of how to write a perfect, artsy progressive record, and then turn around and write a perfect rock album that's jam-packed with earworms. 2009's The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion was pretty good, and then we all try to forget that 2011's Chuckles And Mr. Squeezy ever happened save for maybe a song or two (I stand by "The Ornament" being a solid track). The worst part about Chuckles And Mr. Squeezy is that it seemed like it might be Dredg's final output… at least until now.

Dredg took to Facebook to post a pretty cryptic photo and caption, which wouldn't have meant a ton if bassist Drew Roulette didn't chime in in the comment section saying the photo means "Day one of writing a new record." I'm stoked out of my mind that Dredg is coming back – dudes know how to write a riff and melody, and the world could take a drum lesson or ten on groove from drummer Dino Campanella.

Anyway, Dredg needs to put out a new album like, now.
