While Treme has aired for two seasons on HBO, I've only managed to catch the first, and it was brilliantly depressing. I genuinely felt bad for these characters, mostly because they were representations of real victims of Hurricane Katrina. And this show is all about being genuine. When it comes to metal musicans from the NOLA area, none are more genuine than Eyehategod, so it makes perfect sense that David Simon wants the band to appear in the new season of his show. They are having a shoot tomorrow (Wed. Feb 15th) and here is all the info as provided by Decibel:
The word on the streets of Facebook says that the shoot will take place on Wednesday (2/15) and you’ll get 100 bucks and change for eight hours of your time… NOLA residents preferred. Not only do you get to stand about in the background, doing your bit for Southern Nihilsm and having a genuine “Hi Mom!” moment, but you’ll be getting paid for your time, too—yeah, paid to stand around and hang out with EyeHateGod; that’s a rare privilege, one that’s usually reserved for dealers and cops.
For more details and to be in with a chance of appearing, email a photo and contact info to [email protected] SUBJECT:EYEHATEGOD.
There is no reason for any of our NOLA readers to sit this one out. Paid to see EHG?? Why the fuck not!
