Ghost is definitely up to something. It all started back in October when Mr. Salterian said to Papa Emeritus IV midway through the band's then-recent chapter of their story that "The shows are scheduled, I KNOW when your time is up." Then in an interview this year, Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge said the band is plotting some tours but will debut a "change" beforehand.
"We're going to go into every territory next year, but there's going to be one European tour, one American tour," said Forge. "We are going to do a little bit of everywhere. There'll be a little bit of something up in upper Asia, on the far end there – a very well-established country with a lot of pop cultural fascination, and the home of videogames.
"We're going to come out with a little bit of change before that – good change. We're not going to go silent. Some things are public, other things not in public view, but there are a lot of things brewing."
Now fans have spotted a huge billboard with Papa Emeritus IV's face on it that says "Jesus Is Coming." It's worth noting that Ghost hasn't done a covers EP in a little while, and maybe this is a teaser for some Jesus-themed release? Ghost released If You Have Ghost in 2013 and Popestar in 2016, but hasn't done one between the last few album cycles.
Stay tuned and prepare yourselves – apparently Jesus is coming and he's gonna be pissed if we don't all look busy.
