The Power Trip Festival is happening all throughout this weekend in Indio, CA. The festival kicked off on October 6 with performances by Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden, with AC/DC and Judas Priest slated to play on October 7 and Metallica and Tool to close things out on October 8.
While there's probably plenty to do around the festival grounds, fans can also have a drink (or 10) at the temporary AC/DC pop-up bar at 82971 Bliss Ave. Local news channel KESQ News Channel 3 got a pretty good look at the location and its libations, which you can check out below! No word on if AC/DC will honor the lyrics to their track "Have A Drink On Me" at the bar, but we're guessing not. Booze ain't free.
AC/DC's show at Power Trip will be their first since 2016, and first-ever with live drummer Matt Laug. There's still no word on if usual drummer Phil Rudd is permanently out of the band, as he did rejoin AC/DC in 2020 for their latest record Power Up. Rudd was originally let go from AC/DC in 2015 when he was found guilty of threatening to kill someone and drug possession. Rudd was sentenced to eight months of house arrest by a New Zealand court, and was replaced by former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade.
Williams' story is far less dramatic. Dude retired from the road in 2016 after AC/DC's tour wrapped up, rejoined the band in 2020 for the recording and promotion of Power Up, and is now un-retiring from live shows.
