The long-running joke about Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett and his love of the wah pedal has come full circle. Hammett posted a photo of himself performing with his cover band The Wedding Band not only using a wah pedal, but using one while standing on top of a gigantic wah pedal. Because look – the man has a sense of humor. It looks like the photo might've been taken during a set at The Senate in Columbia, SC during early 2020.
Hammett will release his debut solo EP Portals on April 23, with two of its four songs being co-written by S&M2 conductor Edwin Outwater. Portals also features drummers Jon Theodore (Kirk's fellow Wedding Band member) and Abraham Laboriel, Greg Fidelman on bass, Emmy-winning arranger Blake Neely, and Bob Rock. Check that out here.
