Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson doesn't really need to air his personal life, because all the awesome shit he does generally comes to light anyway. The man beat cancer, participates in music therapy for kids, is a pilot, saves animals, tries to save the world and once saved his own life. That is, among the seemingly endless list of accomplishments he's got going for him on top of being the frontman of Iron Maiden.
Now on October 19, Dickinson will release his memoir titled What Does This Button Do? via HarperNonFiction, about which Bruce has issued the very long and eloquently-worded statement you'll find below.
"It was flattering to be approached to write a book about my experiences and it seems an appropriate time to do this."
Elaborating a little bit more is Publisher Jack Fogg, who seems very excited in a very British way.
"There's no one like Bruce. Which other rock musician can fly a 747, or fence at an international level? He's a total one-off; engaging, funny, warm, self-deprecating — a British eccentric in its very best form. His book will be outstanding and I am so delighted we get to publish it and work with him."
No word on if you'll be able to pre-order the book with a pack of Iron Maiden's beer or not, but we're kinda hoping so.
