For those unaware, Jason Becker is a guitar god. He's one of the originators of the shred genre, which he helped perpetuate with his solo album Perpetual Burn, and with Marty Friedman in Cacophony. Becker's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease 9ALS), which he has lived with for 27 years now.
Though Becker sure as hell isn't letting ALS stifle his creativity. Becker and Emmy-award winning producer Dan Alvarez are working on a brand new solo album right this minute, but they need your help! Some of the perks are extremely cool too, with thumb-printed CDs and guitars being the main highlights.
Jason has new pieces of music and unreleased guitar recordings to put out. He has many guest guitar players sitting in as well. He will be working again with his dear friend and brilliant, Emmy winning producer Dan Alvarez (Perspective and Collection). Jason says Dan “gets” his music, and always knows what he is going for, while adding his own great ideas.
This will be Becker's first full-length album entirely comprised of originals since 1996… so get on it!
