JOURNEY's NEAL SCHON Accuses AVENGED SEVENFOLD Of "Extremely Limiting" Their Rock In Rio Show

What.

According to a handful of posts around the Internet, Journey vocalist Arnel Pineda performed so poorly at Rock In Rio that he's asking fans if he should step down from the band. According to Journey guitarist Neal Schon, it's a buncha media hype and another band is to blame.

Media headlines over the weekend criticised Pineda's performance at Rock In Rio, saying fans were vastly disappointed by the show. Pineda took to his Facebook on Sunday, September 22 to write in part: "i am offering you a chance now ( especially those who’s hated me and never liked me from the very beginning) to simply text GO or STAY right here.. and if GO reaches 1million… im stepping out for good..are you game folks? let’s start…" The response has been overwhelmingly positive, so I guess Pineda isn't leaving the band.

Schon has since addressed the issue on his Facebook page, calling the headlines "garbage fabricated bullshit about [Arnel Pineda]." Schon's post came alongside a video, with Schon asking his fans "Does this look like nobody had a good time?"

Then a second post from Schon blamed the poor sound of the show on Avenged Sevenfold, who he claims limited their overall production.

"This clip is from Rio, even though we found out much later that we got extremely limited by Avenged Sevenfold that means that hardly hardly any sound can get out of the PA to the audience. It’s a bullshit move," wrote Schon. "Check out the audience. They loved it the rest of its fabricated crap."

Avenged Sevenfold hasn't responded to these claims yet. It's pretty wild that one of the best-selling rock bands of all time is accusing Avenged Sevenfold – still a big band in their own right – of tanking their festival show.
