Last weekend at Download festival in the U.K, Lacuna Coil vocalists Andrea Ferro and Cristina Scabbia did an interview with Rock Sound, and they revealed there is some new music on the way from Lacuna Coil—but both were quick to caution it is not the follow up to their last album and ninth so far, Black Anima.
"We've been a bit sneaky, to be honest," Perro said. "Yes, there will be new music coming out soon, and soon we're gonna announce what it is, exactly, but it's not album number ten." Scabbia followed up by adding, "It is something special — it is a special project. But it is recorded. We're actually finishing little things here and there." Ferro concluded by saying "We can't say much. [But] very soon — in a couple of months everything will be more clear."
Hopefully we'll be hearing more about that sooner rather that later, but it definitely sounds cool. Last week, Lacuna Coil announced a North American tour with guests Butcher Babies, Uncured, and Lions at the Gate. You can catch all of those dates below. Back in April, Lacuna Coil and Apocalyptica tore up the Roseland in Portland, OR, and it was the first time Lacuna Coil had performed live since 2020. Their last album, Black Anima, was released in 2019 and reach #87 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart in the US, as well as reaching #23 on the charts in their beloved home of Italy.
