Layne Staley's Vocal Doppelganger Releases New Track, Sounds Just Like Layne Staley

Layne Staley tragically passed away on April 4th, 2002 and since then, we only had his back catalogue to listen to. But recently, MetalSucks has uncovered a singer who sounds exactly like Layne, but obviously is not him.

In 2017, MetalSucks found a track from the band Skorned, and the dude was a dead ringer for Layne:

Turns out that band has broken up and the dude is in a new project now, Chout. His name is Brendan Maier and the dude can wail.

At the very least, Alice In Chains can invite this guy's band to open a local show on their upcoming tour, right?

Update: Turns out this guy got the message and was in a Chicago Alice In Chains cover band, Facelift.
