Before Maynard James Keenan was fronting highly successful bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, he and keyboardist Mike Meeng were in a very different band called Tex And The Anti Nazi Squad (or TexA.N.S). Keenan played bass in the group in 1986 and would eventually go on to become their vocalist.
Meeng recently joined a Tool fan group on Facebook and shared photos of the band, as well as some of their material. It's not even in the same realm of sound as what Keenan would eventually go on to do, but it's a really cool look into what the famous frontman was doing prior to his current careers.
Check out some screenshots of Meeng's posts below courtesy of MetalSucks.
