The new Mastodon album Hushed And Grim is full of surprises so far. The first surprise came upon announcement, when we learned that Hushed And Grim was actually a double album. Now in an interview with Kerrang!, the band reveals quite an interesting guest list. The list includes:
- Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil and French horn player (and Mastodon bassist Troy Sanders' mother) Jody on "Had It All"
- Blues guitarist Marcus King on "The Beast"
- Municipal Waste drummer Dave Witte on "Dagger"
- The Claypool Lennon Delirium keyboardist João Nogueira on multiple songs
- Engineer Tom Tapley's daughter on vocals for "Sickle And Peace"

"If there’s a band out there that people expected to do a double-album at some point, it was probably us…"
