Members of MORBID ANGEL, CRYPTOPSY, KRALLICE, BEHOLD…THE ARCOTPUS Collaborate in NY Jam to Save Darfur

Move over, Nile; there's a new bunch of Egypt-lovin' death metal musicians in town.

New York City-based, Egyptian-born artist Nader Sadek will be presenting the follow-up to the 2007 "Faceless" exhibition a new performance piece entitled B'doun Wag'h on March 15th. The piece incorporates elements of Middle Eastern design, Darfur activism and death metal music, and will feature a specially-commissioned performance by Steve Tucker (formerly of MORBID ANGEL), Flo Mounier (CRYPTOPSY), Nick McMaster (KRALLICE), and Mike Lerner (BEHOLD… THE ARCTOPUS). Tucker also wrote the piece, which features Middle Eastern elements that tie into the occult, aggressive nature of extreme metal music itself.

According to a press release, "Woodwork screens and geometric patterns that frame blistering guitars and frenetic drumming blur configurations of private and public, holy and profane, ritual restraint and impulsive aggression. In a further twist of cultural signifiers and conventions, proceeds from the events admission fee of $5, including sales from the merchandise table, will go to victims of the Darfur crisis."

The recording of "Faithless", ( the rough mix of which will soon be available for streaming), features:
Steve Tucker (ex-MORBID ANGEL) – vocals, guitar, bass)
Trym (EMPEROR, ZYKLON) – drums
Alex Skolnick (TESTAMENT) – lead guitar
Ralph Santolla (DEICIDE, OBITUARY) – leads

The performance will take place during "It's All Yours Now," an all-day art event, on Sunday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. sharp at:
