Last year, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, and Prog all entered administration (bankruptcy) after its parent company TeamRock began going under. So who else but the trio's former publisher Future Entertainment came to save it from its impending doom, which all by itself was great news. Even better, the magazine has put out its first issue this month, which features interviews with both Avenged Sevenfold and Black Sabbath!
Metal Hammer Editor Merlin Alderslade told MetalSucks that about 1/3 of the magazine's team has been hired back, and that the money raised by Orange Goblin frontman Ben Ward has been distributed all the current/former employees.
“So far, the core editorial teams of each magazine have been hired back. There are also a few other ex-TeamRock employees that have been brought in, such as Scott Rowley, who is now Editor In Chief across all three mags, as well as our two Online Editors and some of the sales team."
So here's hoping everything continues to go well for Metal Hammer, and everyone gets hired back!
