Many bands draw from the influence of Faith No More, but few can really execute upon it. The level of talent required to do so properly wards off all but the most dedicated. Mollo Rilla are a band that have taken the magic of Faith No More and turned it into something wholly their own. Their new record, Viva El Camino, is a jaw dropping release that thrives on its own diversity. This is hard rock at its absolute finest.
With plenty of unique frills and fascinating little ideas making the record distinctly special, Viva El Camino is a one-of-a-kind offering. It is full of musical surprises and constantly drives towards exciting new directions. There is a lot to unpack within Mollo Rilla and this latest album deserves at least a few spins from anyone who loves unorthodox and exciting rock!
Frontman Marco Ciofani had this to say: "When writing this record one of my goals was to write melodies that tickle the brain in some way. I also love weaving a song into a journey with the assistance of things like tempo & time signature changes. Anything to make the songs more fun to play and to listen to – there is a 'no rules' mentality when we write. I feel like a lot of the time people put themselves into boxes without even knowing it. The truth is there is no box. On this album we wrote a psychobilly punk tune and turn around and write a rap over a half time shuffle! We just have a lot of fun writing and recording music, and we hope people hear that when they listen to this album."
