Metal music and hockey isn't the most farfetched pairing, as we've seen with the likes of Amon Amarth and Enslaved attending hockey games and even Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden hockey masks in the past. Now, unlike the tributes to classic heavy metal bands like we've seen before, Ottawa Senator's goalie Robin Lehner has taken his love of the band In Flames to the ice on his brand new goalie's mask! Lehner had this to say about the mask.
"I have small things from my favorite band I listen to before games, a Swedish band called In Flames. So I just have some of their cover art hidden a little bit here and there. I like to have their covers on there. I listen to them a lot before games and stuff. So yeah, they're great."
The In Flames references are pretty veiled but you can see a few of them in the picture above, namely the flames logo in the bottom right-hand corner. Check out the video below from NHL.com to get some better looks at the mask!
