Ozzy Osbourne won two GRAMMY awards last night – in the Best Rock Album category for his Patient Number 9 album, and in the Best Metal Performance category for the song "Degradation Rules" featuring Tony Iommi. Now in a new statement, Osbourne said he's "one lucky motherfucker" to have won, and thanks everyone involved with Patient Number 9 for making it possible.
"I'm one lucky motherfucker to have won the 'Best Rock Album' Grammy," said Ozzy, now a five-time Grammy Award winner. "I was blessed to work with some of the greatest musicians in the world and Andrew Watt as my producer on this album. Winning the 'Best Metal Performance' was equally gratifying being that the song featured my longtime friend and Black Sabbath bandmate, Tony Iommi."
Osbourne's two wins at the GRAMMYs come on the heels of his heartbreaking announcement last week that he'd be retiring from the road.
In a statement, Osbourne said his body is physically too weak to get out on the road and that his touring days are over. Osbourne said he's working with his doctors on solutions to play shows without having to travel very much, and expressed thanks for his friends, fans, family, and Judas Priest for being the openers to the now-canceled tour.
