PATHOLOGY Exceeds Their Super Realistic Kickstarter Goal For A New Album

Seriously! The band were asking for less than $10,000!

Seriously! The band were asking for less than $10,000!

We've seen some really, really insane Kickstarters in the past few years. One that will always stick out in my mind will be Protest the Hero asking for $125,000 for Volition and ending up with over $341,000. Even more recently with Devin Townsend who, last I checked is at 407% of his unspecified monetary goal. Still! 407% of his goal!

In contrast to that, Pathology kept it super simple and asked a meager $4,000, of which they obviously exceeded. How are they getting by with just that? Well according to their now-closed Kickstarter they have their own studio and it doesn't cost much to do a record for them anymore. Plus anything over the needed $4,000 is going to merch and things like that… so new merch! Hooray! The band even talked about it being released on Aug. 5, the music, the artwork and the fact that legendary artist Par Olofsson will be doing the artwork.

"This is hands down the most brutal technical stuff we have ever written! We are more then half way done with making this album. We have our own studio so we are able to take our time more and fine-tune everything and make it just the way we want it. You will also hear the return of the guitar solos on this release. This stuff is so crazy fast, heavy and technical, fans will not be disappointed!

As for the album art, it will be done once again by the one and only Par Olofsson. The album cover will feature the popular sci-fi Alien Doctor. The album art will be available around April and the new album will be released Aug 5th 2014!"

It's also worth noting Pathology have put out a new record every single years since 2008. Wow.
