If I can be honest here, this week has been rough for me, ever since hearing of the untimely passing of Power Trip vocalist Riley Gale. Riley was only a few years younger than me, and while I didn't know him personally, I feel like there were a lot of things we would've agreed on. It's been a bummer and I've been listening to and watching a lot of Power Trip this week as a way to remember how awesome he was as a frontman. It seems like I'm not the only one.
Currently, their last full-length album release, 2017's Nightmare Logic is sitting at #1 on two separate Apple Music charts.
In the metal category, Nightmare Logic is number one and their previous release, Manifest Decimation sits at #2. These two releases edge out big time albums from Metallica and Tool.
Both albums are doing well on the general Rock charts as well, beating out classics from The Beatles and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Obviously none of this would bring Riley back or soften the pain to his loved ones, but it's a nice tribute to Riley and his excellent band that people are hearing what he had to say this week.
