ROB ZOMBIE, SOUNDGARDEN, LIMP BIZKIT Among Artists Revealed To Have Lost Master Recordings In 2008 Fire

The saga of the Universal fire rages on.

The saga of the Universal fire rages on.

Universal Studios suffered a fire in 2008 that was originally reported to have only destroyed its King Kong ride. Then this year it came to light that tons of masters recordings from artists like Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, and Nine Inch Nails were also destroyed. For those unfamiliar, the master recordings contain all the separate tracks that comprise the songs, so those are gone forever now. Plus who knows what unreleased material they had down there too!

Lawsuits against Universal have already begun due to the fact that they hid this for 11 years, and now another bombshell has dropped. The New York Times has unveiled a list of all the artists who lost their recordings and it's way bigger than previous reported. Now the losses include artists like Aerosmith, Limp Bizkit, Voivod, The Damned, and Extreme. Much like all the artists previously reported, nobody was informed their master recordings were lost, so nobody could've put in insurance claims for their losses.

Take a look at the full list below, as compiled by The PRP.
