Update: All the rumors are true and the Power Trip festival has been announced. Check it out here.

Original Story: Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Ozzy Osbourne all posted teasers yesterday afternoon for a festival named Power Trip. The festival is rumored to be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA this October 6 through 8. Then later that same evening after the three initial teasers, a fourth teaser appeared from a band we haven't heard from in a while – AC/DC.

AC/DC played their final show (so far) on September 20 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Ever since then, AC/DC's social media has been throwbacks and reposts of articles, but no news about what their future might be. Last we heard about the band's future was from vocalist Brian Johnson in a December 19 interview with Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk.

Johnson was asked in the interview if he and AC/DC will ever get back together on stage, to which he answered "I'm not answering that. Why should I? First of all, there's five members in this band, and to ask one member isn't fair."

Trunk then asked Johnson if he'd like to get back on stage with the band for the first time since 2016, to which he responded "Eddie, I cannot answer that. I've been told not to by everybody. It's the official line."

Johnson has not played a show with AC/DC since February 2016, and was replaced by Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose for the remainder of that year's tour. AC/DC went on hiatus at the end of 2016 and eventually, quietly reunited with Johnson for the 2020 album Power Up.

As of their 2020 album Power Up, AC/DC was Johnson on vocals, lead guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young in place of his uncle Malcolm Young who died in 2017, bassist Cliff Williams, and drummer Phil Rudd. The Power Trip festival will reveal its lineup on March 30, so stayed tuned!

Shortly after AC/DC came Tool, bringing the potential headliners for Power Trip up to five.
