Mike Shinoda Clarifies: LINKIN PARK Is Not Looking For A New Singer

Last week, Mike Shinoda offered some words about the future of Linkin Park and noted that the band aren't completely opposed to a new vocalist if it all worked out naturally.

Here's exactly what he said when asked if the band would replace Chester:

“That’s not my goal right now. I think it has to happen naturally. And if we find somebody that’s a great person, and that we think is a good personality fit and a good stylistic fit, I could see trying to do some stuff with somebody. Not for the sake of like, replacing… I wouldn’t ever wanna feel like we are replacing Chester.”

I guess some press outlets ran with the idea that Linkin Park is looking for a new vocalist, forcing Shinoda to offer this clarification: "Lemme clarify a rumor," Shinoda begins on Twitter. "We are not looking for a new singer, and if it were to happen organically, I’d be open. Seems pretty clear, yet I guess some folks have a hard time understanding. I’m not into predicting the future. The future will happen. Stop making shit up."

So hold off on making your audition tape, and try to instead work your way naturally into the lives of Linkin Park if you want that gig.
