Samael has undergone a bit of a transformation in 2018. It all started when guitarist Marco Rivao, who had been in the band since 2002, quit. Then-bassist Thomas "Drop" Betrisey (Obsydians, ex-Sybreed) stepped up to the vacant guitar position and now they've rounded out the lineup with Herod bassist Pierre Carroz.
If anything this just means that whatever Samael does next will have Betrisey on guitar, which is quite literally never a bad thing. That guy is a monster.
