The Damned Things, the band featuring Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley, Shiner bassist Josh Newton, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, ex-Anthrax guitarist and current Volbeat guitarist Rob Caggiano, and Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley, seems to have been hinting a new material for a while now.
There were rumors of a new EP in 2016, teases of new material in 2017, and now Ian tells Wall Of Sound that "there is, possibly, a record."
“We always knew with The Damned Things, it was always going to be something that we would get to do schedules permitting, because we are all in extremely busy bands. But look, we’re all friends and we’re all in contact with each other on a regular basis and I can say that there is, possibly, a record, but that’s all I’m going to say about it [laughs].”
So who knows. Maybe 2018 is the year, and here's hoping it is – The Damned Things were damned good. This will be The Damned Things' long-awaited follow-up to their 2010 album Ironiclast.
