SLIPKNOT Is "Dusting Off" Some Rarities To Play On Coming Tour

"Stuff that people have been asking for for a long time."

slipknot 2021

Slipknot will hit the road for the first left of their Slipknot Roadshow starting later this month, and they're giving fans something special. According to vocalist Corey Taylor during a Q&A session at the Mad Monster Party, Slipknot is planning to break out some songs they've rarely played live before or straight up never played live before.

"I will tell you this — you're gonna see some songs that haven't been played live in a very long time, straight up. I just redid the set, and we're dusting some stuff off, and we're bringing out not only some old school shit, but stuff that people have been asking for for a long time. I'm gonna make them play it."

It also seems pretty likely that we'll be hearing new Slipknot pretty soon. Taylor said in a recent interview that the new record was being mixed in February and should be out within the first half of 2022.

"The record is actually in the process of being mixed right now. Everything is finished, so it's just being mixed right now, which is rad news. So it's probably gonna take… I think it's probably gonna be another three months. The artwork's done. We just came up with the title. I'm not gonna tell you it right now. But we're really stoked. So hopefully three months from now — well, less than that — we'll get the single out, and then three months from now we'll get the album out."

Taylor also commented on the direction of the new record, saying it's darker and more melodic than We Are Not Your Kind and heavier than Vol. 3.

"It's really killer, man. It's darker than We Are Not Your Kind, but there's a ton of melody. I've been telling everybody that it's like a heavier version of Vol. 3. It's got so many textures and layers. The heavy stuff has attack but the melodic stuff you can just sink your teeth in; there's a lot of great melodies and hooks. I'm really, really excited for people to hear it."
