Sockweb, everyone's favorite father/daughter grindcore duo, are releasing their debut album on August 6th via Monolithic Records, you guys! You might remember Sockweb from such Metal Injection posts as A Grind Song About Pancakes Written By A Six-Year-Old Girl? Yes, Please! and Father/Daughter Grindcore Duo SOCKWEB Gets A Record Deal, All Is Right With The Music Business. The album's title is Werewolf and, based on the the tracks that have been released so far, it's seriously something to look forward to.
It would be easy to write Sockweb off as a novelty act akin to those animal-fronted metal bands like Caninus and Hatebeak, but these two are the real deal. Did I mention the album is being mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer) and features a guest appearance by Kat Katz (Agoraphobic Nosebleed) because she's one of 7-year-old Joanie "Bologna" Young's favorite vocalists? This kid has more metal cred than a lot of people reading this article right now.
Below you can stream a third track from Werewolf called "Broken Glass Swan Dive." It's a 32 second blast of grindviolence that would surely stir up a mosh pit at the filthiest of squat punk basement shows. While you're listening, try and remember that this is a little girl and her dad making this music.
