Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren played with the band between 2004 and 2016, at which point he left to join Megadeth. Verbeuren announced his replacement in 2017 to be his own drum student Bastian Thusgaard, who also plays in Blood Label, Dawn of Demise, and The Arcane Order.
Now for the first time in three years, Soilwork is working on a new album and its first with Thusgaard behind the kit. This will also be Soilwork's first album with bassist Markus Wibom, who replaced longtime bassist Ola Flink in 2017. Though The Absence's Taylor Nordberg has been filling in for Wibom quite a bit live lately, so we'll see what happens there.
