About 50 million songs uploaded to MySpace between 2003 and 2015 were lost in 2019 during a server migration. While it was easy to joke about everyone's terrible high school band being lost forever at the time, it still sucked that 50 million songs were potentially lost for good. Though they might not be.
One group of people have created a new website called Lost MySpace. The site has somehow uploaded about 500,000 of the lost tracks into a searchable database. Which isn't a ton, but at least it's something.
Check out the database here and then tell us what you MySpace jams were back in the day! Unsurprisingly, two of my big discoveries on MySpace were Job for a Cowboy way earlier on, and then After the Burial a little later. I'm also pretty sure I got into Revocation because of an ad campaign featuring the Existence is Futile artwork at the time.
