Recently, The Faceless lost bassist Evan Brewer and drummer Alex Rüdinger for no apparent reason. While rumors immediately started swirling as to why the rhythm section would quit simultaneously like they did, others speculated if the band would even perform on their upcoming tour with Protest the Hero and The Contortionist. To make matters worse, the band hardly commented on the issue! At least until now, where they've made a Facebook post addressing the issue.
"To put any rumors to rest, The Faceless fully intend to play on the Protest The Hero tour with The Contortionist. We have already been jamming with some people that I think Faceless fans will be truly excited to hear are becoming involved in the group. This is something that needed to happen for a lot of reasons and everyone is going to come out stronger for it. I feel a sense of joy in The Faceless and I think everyone will pick up on that when they see us play.
We will be announcing new members very soon. Stay tuned. It's exciting stuff."
There are two things fans have to keep in mind with The Faceless by now.
- The Faceless, whether you want to believe it or not given his music output in recent years, is solely guitarist and vocalist Michael Keene. The Faceless isn't dead until Keene comes out and says the group dead. Until then, no matter how many people come and go, The Faceless will continue to exist.
- The band has gone through 14 members since their inception in 2004. If the group hasn't disbanded by this point, I doubt losing a few more names along the line is going to be the final nail in the coffin.
So we'll see what's up! Who would you want to see join the group? In the meantime, enjoy some brief demos of new music from the group!
