The work of Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on the soundtrack for the 2019 TV adaptation of Watchmen has paid off in the form of two Emmy Awards nominations.
Reznor and Ross have been nominated in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for their overall musical work on the episode "It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice," while their track "The Way it Used to Be" featured in the "This Extraordinary Being" episode has been nominated in the Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics category.  The Emmy Awards will be broadcast on September 20 and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
As for future plans, Reznor recently said he hopes to deep dive into some new material this year and get back on the road in 2021.
"The current plan is to finish up some scoring projects, work on my limited patience skills, deep dive into new NIN material, and hopefully be playing music live for you in 2021," said Reznor. "In the meantime… listen to Jehnny Beth’s record (comes out June 12), continue to listen to Bowie, and don’t be too hard on yourself."
