Harvard researcher Calin Switzer and his colleagues were recently investigating the use of a bees head and how it plays into pollination, though things got unexpectedly metal for the research team. The paper isn't so much about the bees, though its great the research team found some humor in it below with a video they put together!
“It was pretty unexpected — it just made me think of heavy-metal bands,” said Switzer, a Harvard graduate student in the lab of Assistant Professor of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology Robin Hopkins. “I had shot some video of bees at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, and when a colleague and I watched it, we said to each other, ‘Is it doing what I think it’s doing?’”
So there you have it. Metal has found a new home in Harvard researcher's actual work, of all places.
