Our short Stone Temple Pilots-fueled nightmare is over.
Despite the news earlier today where Scott Stapp "couldn't confirm or deny" that he is the new singer of Stone Temple Pilots, while at the same time heavily inferring that he is, the members of STP made a joint statement vehemently denying Stapp was ever in the running to be their vocalist:

That was a close one. Meanwhile, what project is Stapp working on in June that he was teasing?
Meanwhile, the band is still without a vocalist. Slipknot's Corey Taylor will be filling in on vocals for a charity show. Maybe they'll gel very well and Taylor will line up another band to play with.
