Rage Against the Machine lyrics are the call of the people at recent rallies. Protestors in Portland, Oregon have been met with federal agents many are dubbing some variation of secret police. The New York Times reports there are currently 114 federal law enforcement officers in comprising the force in Portland, all of whom are from various government agencies such as Customs and Border Protection and the Federal Protective Service. These federal agents have, among other terrible things, beaten a Navy veteran who asked a question and fractured the skull a peaceful protestor.
While the Trump administration is currently in talks with Portland about pulling out the federal agents, protestors have not backed down in the face of governmental force. Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello shared a video of Portland protestors yelling the lyrics to "Killing in the Name" at the federal agents, specifically the "Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me" line.
