SLAYER's Kerry King: Trump Is "Biggest Liar," Hillary "Only Safe Choice" For President

It seems like the 2016 U.S. Presidential election has been going on forever now, with no end in sight. Okay, sure the end is about three months away on election day, but due to all the social media and the wall-to-wall news coverage, it seems like this is the longest election season in history. Some musicians have taken note, with many blasting Donald Trump, including Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Limp Bizkit's Wes Boreland, Tool's Maynard James Kennan, Lamb of God's Randy Blythe and Municipal Waste.

It seems as though Slayer guitarist Kerry King agrees with them. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, King calls Hillary Clinton the "safest choice" while calling Donald Trump a WWE sideshow:

"I'm certainly not a political analyst, but I think that Hillary Clinton is the safe, correct choice. Trump is just a sideshow. I'm not even going to apologize to all the Trump followers." King laughs. "I think the reason he's so popular is because he's like the politics version of WWE. He's sensational like wrestling and that's why middle America loves him."

"He's the biggest liar I've ever seen in politics," he says with a laugh. "I mean, most of them are liars, but he just outright in-your-face lies."

It's a surprising stance for King to take, as he risks alienating some of Slayer's more conservative fan-base. King notes that fans who disagree with his opinion shouldn't base their own opinions on King's:

"People just have to make up their minds and not be into things because their friends are into it or because their girlfriend or their spouse or whoever is into it," he says. "People have to be individuals. … Sounds like I'm talking about religion, doesn't it?"

Slayer are gearing up for a massive US tour with Anthrax and Death Angel this fall, for which we are giving a pair of tickets away for each stop. Enter to win here.
