Danzig sure has been in the news a lot this week, with reports of his alleged attack on a fan for taking photographs all over the internet.
But today, the Danzig narrative is shifting to a new revelation made by the 60-year-old legend. Danzig tells Loudwire that his current run with Superjoint Ritual is all-she-wrote as far as him doing regular tours anymore:
“I think this is going to be it. I’ll do some shows here or there, but I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore.”
Danzig made it clear that he still expects to do shows here and there, likely one-offs or perhaps two, or three-offs, where he plays a few gigs in a weekend and keeps things intimate, but his days of 20 consecutive gigs are over.
And can you blame him? I saw Danzig last night, and while it was certainly entertaining, and the riffs are absolutely undeniable, the dude was showing his age. He barely pronounces lyrics anymore, he just screams Danzig-isms and accents to words. But don't let my critique make it seem like I don't recognize him as one of metal's last living icons.
