Dennis Rodman might've made his career playing for NBA teams like the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks, but he's also pretty well known for his multiple trips to North Korea. Rodman initially visited the country in 2013 to host basketball exhibitions when he became friends with ruthless dictator Kim Jong-un.
Rodman recounted the trip on Mike Tyson's HotBoxin' podcast last week. Rodman said he was invited to Kim Jong-un's house for a party on the trip, when "an 18-piece band of 'hot' women came out — and only played the theme song from the 1978 TV show Dallas." Rodman requested they learn some Van Halen and Pearl Jam classics for his next trip, and they totally did.
“Next thing I know, we are having dinner and we are drunk as sh-t, he starts singing karaoke and I have no clue what the f–k he’s talking about.”
Then an 18-piece band of “hot” women came out — and only played the theme song from the 1978 TV show “Dallas,” Rodman said.
The Hall of Famer suggested they learn other tunes — some Pearl Jam, Van Halen and Rolling Stones — and, the next time he visited North Korea, they played all his requests.
